I have rented several cars from Auto Europe in the last several years.
I have had nothing but good service and good vehicles from this
company.
The times I have called Auto Europe my call was answered promptly
and my question was answered quickly.
I will continue to use Auto Europe because of their excellent service
and fair prices.

I always got the lowest prices: Europe, USA, South America.
If there was any problem it was promptly solved.

The website was easy to navigate, and no problems making my reservation. At the Edinburgh airport, the staff were very friendly and helpful, always appreciated when you're tired from travelling. Would use this service again.

I have used Autoeurope.com several times to rent cars in Europe, and they have always delivered as promised. Their telephone staff is on the ball. Most importantly, I have been charged the agreed upon amount with Autoeurope.com. This has not always happened to me with other car rental transactions.
After reading other reviews, I would remark that I *think* that Autoeurope is a car rental *cons ...

I dropped the car off 24 hours in advance (no discount - even on the insurance I paid). I could not find a gas station nearby, so returned the car 3/4 full. I was charged $75 for the quarter tank of gas.
No hassles, no problems

We rented a car in Portugal, and a week later another car in Spain. Both companies used by Auto Europe treated us just fine. The cars we had chosen were ready, and both check-out and check-in were by friendly, helpful people. We would have liked better maps. One advice note: Be sure to check the open hours of the local office if it's not at a major airport.
I would use Auto Europe again.

Easy to use website. Rates seem fair and a little cheaper than going directly through a rental car company. I do not like pre paying though as if plans change you incur fees and may even lose what you paid. I would rather pay a few dollars more and have the ability to cancel or modify.
My car was through Hertz and they provided a very good service. The car was new, clean.

Our rental was provided by Europcar at Rome Fiumicino airport. We had no problems of any kind, and would happily recommend both Auto Europe and Europcar.

Received an upgrade to an automatic transmission at no extra charge. Received the type of vehicle I asked for. No BS to get an unneeded larger car. Very friendly, answered all questions with a smile.
The return process was quick and efficient.
Would recommend and use them again.
False promises and headaches

The car I reserved was not there, I ended up paying more than agreed, and the rental provider billed me for the same things I paid autoeurope for. So in short I paid twice and did not get the car I requested

We reserved a 4 passenger wagon (Opel Astra or similar) for six days in Italy, with full insurance coverage. Pick-up was smooth and we were given a Renault Megane diesel. The car was spacious for 4 people, had plenty of room for our luggage, and performed very well. Not only did I get the automatic as requested but I also got the GPS. They did not have the smaller car with these features and instead gave me a larger car (two upgrades above) with no additional price increase. I highly recommend them.
Cars are good. GPS is too expensive.

When I made the reservation, I was told that GPS for Hungary was not available. At the Vienna Airport they told me that a GPS was availalble for Hungary. I would have had trouble without the GPS, but it cost half the cost of the weekly car rental.
Also, we had to search for the car we rented at the rental lot without help.

The office in Palermo Italy had no local maps for us, making it difficult to get out of town.
The car had a sun roof, but there was only a mesh filter to keep the sun out rather than an opaque shade.
Emergency early drop-off at different location.

The auto we got from AutoEurope was through Hertz from 5/3-5/14 dropping the car in Paris. We paid the topline insurance and paid Hertz for the different drop-off location when we picked up the car in LeHavre, Fr. on 5/3.
On 5/5, we received word that our son was in the Intensive Care Unit for an anticipated liver transplant in NY.
We immediately made arrangements to fly home the next morning ...
